Entries for the 2001 Awwwards have now closed, with a record number of entries delighting organisers. SYDNEY, August 21, 2001 Entries for the 2001 Awwwards have now closed, with a record number of entries delighting organisers. Now in their fourth year, the Awwwards recognise achievements in Internet advertising and marketing, and are sponsored by Yahoo! Australia and NZ in conjunction with B&T Weekly. "This is the first year that there has been an entry fee," said Nic Jones, Managing Director, Yahoo! Australia & NZ. "So with over 180 entries, at least 50 more than last year, it’s going to be a great showcase for the industry." "By celebrating the best Australian work, it allows the industry to show rather than tell marketers how flexible, effective, targeted, measurable and valuable the medium is." The entries are spread fairly evenly across the seven categories:

Most strategic integration of online media Since their launch in 1998, the Awwwards have grown to achieve widespread industry recognition with over 100 entries and several-hundred key industry figures attending the event each year. Judges include industry leaders from companies like Yahoo! Australia & NZ, f2, ninemsn and News Interactive.
