Australia's Favourite ISP, OzEmail, and Australia's Favourite Internet Destination, Yahoo!, Team to Offer Great Services for Customers. SYDNEY, June 26, 2001 OzEmail Internet and Yahoo! Australia and NZ today announced a major relationship that will see Yahoo! provide popular content and services on the OzEmail homepage. "This is fantastic news for OzEmail subscribers," said Justin Milne, OzEmail CEO and Senior Vice President for MCI in Asia Pacific, Justin Milne. "Content provision has always been one of OzEmail’s differentiating factors, and now our members will benefit from access to Yahoo!’s great content and services. We’re extremely excited about improving our service by leveraging the best of breed services that Yahoo! has always offered." In the upcoming weeks, the OzEmail home page (http://www.ozemail.com.au) will undergo a facelift with integrated Yahoo! Australia & NZ (http://www.yahoo.com.au) services such as finance, shopping, instant messaging, auctions, travel, sport, careers, movies, music, astrology, greeting cards and other information woven throughout the site. The new look portal will retain popular OzEmail and customer administration services such as online help and account checking. The content integration will also extend to all OzEmail affiliated sites such as the SENet, PowerUp, Voyager in New Zealand and other partner homepages such as Harvey Norman. "It’s terrific to be working with such an established and dynamic Internet Service Provider," said Tony Faure, VP South Asia for Yahoo!. "The new OzEmail homepage will be a great way for people to familiarise themselves with the web, allowing people to rapidly discover the full potential of Internet access with Yahoo!’s array of services." The deal also involves extensive promotion of OzEmail on the Yahoo! network and will extend to broadband and wireless sites. "Working with Yahoo! Australia & NZ offers our customers some of the web’s most popular services," said Mr Milne. "OzEmail customers will now have direct access to tools such as Yahoo! Messenger and commerce opportunities like SOLD.com.au, the online auction site. Innovative products such as these will be enormously popular additions to the OzEmail portal." The new content service strategy follows OzEmail’s recent announcement of its ecommerce initiative OzEpay, which allows OzEmail customers to purchase goods and services online without ever transmitting their credit card or personal details online. "Without a doubt, the OzEmail and Yahoo! deal will greatly improve the Internet experience for subscribers throughout Australia and Asia-Pacific," said Milne. "We think there’s a really nice fit between our two brands and customers will benefit greatly from the synergy. The deal brings together Australia’s favourite ISP with Australia’s favourite portal."
