Innovative Christmas Marketing Campaign for Yahoo Australia & NZ Shopping Launches
As part of a tactical Christmas marketing campaign, Yahoo Australia & NZ Shopping (shopping.yahoo.com.au) is launching a promotion that guarantees customers a free Sony Top 40 CD with any purchase over $50, during random special offer periods.

SYDNEY, November 12, 2001 As part of a tactical Christmas marketing campaign, Yahoo Australia & NZ Shopping (shopping.yahoo.com.au) is launching a promotion that guarantees customers a free Sony Top 40 CD with any purchase over $50, during random special offer periods.

Shoppers will learn of the one hour, special offer periods via a time-sensitive, online campaign to be run across the Yahoo! and SOLD.com.au networks, and other sites including Ozemail. A radio call to action in the hour before the special offers will run in support on Nova, 2MMM and 3MMM. In addition, shoppers will be able to join the Yahoo! Priority Christmas Shopper program which will give them advance notice via permission email of the special offer periods so they can be ready to take advantage of the timed promotion.

"Rather than running an extravagant offline advertising campaign with lots of traffic but no transactions, we wanted to offer our customers real value, and help our merchants sell more," said Leanne Sheraton, Marketing Director, Yahoo Australia & NZ. "The campaign has a strong call to action, a great permission marketing element, and really takes advantage of the immediate nature and conversion power of online marketing."

"Christmas is obviously a key retail time and a big opportunity for our retailers, and we’re delivering a program that can be uniquely and economically achieved through the use of online. It taps into the traditional retail strategy of ‘gift with purchase’, and combines compelling online elements for our customers."

Yahoo! Australia & NZ Shopping is Australia’s largest integrated online shopping mall with more than one hundred big name brand and specialty retailers selling hundreds of thousands of products. Just some of the stores available include: HMV, Apple Store, Dymocks, The Body Shop, Amcal, Just Jeans, Gowings, Angus & Robertson, The ABC Shop, DVD Crave, Dick Smith Electronics, Sanity, Tandy, Jan Logan Jewellery and many more. For choice and convenience, it’s definitely the place to shop this Christmas.

The unique promotion will run from November 12th until December 14th.
