New front page offers more streamlined and integrated experience
SYDNEY, 15 August 2002 - Yahoo! Australia & NZ today introduced a new homepage, giving consumers more streamlined and integrated access to Yahoo!'s most popular services and tools. Yahoo! Australia & NZ is now beta testing the new front page and gathering feedback from consumers before finalising the design. "The new design of Yahoo! Australia & NZ's homepage makes it even easier for people to go directly to the services and information that interest them most," said Bernie Sheehan, production director, Yahoo! Australia & NZ. "We have always valued feedback from our audience to help us evolve our services, and by beta testing the new front page directly with our consumers, we can ensure that we're providing them with the best product possible." The home page of Yahoo! Australia & NZ features a new, cleaner interface and easier-to-use menu of Yahoo!'s services. With the new homepage, consumers can find, shop and connect to fun, personal and useful information more quickly and conveniently than ever before. In addition, businesses can take advantage of the improved integration and streamlined design to reach their target audiences more effectively. The new homepage now also has a Personal Assistant section that recognises when you are signed in to Yahoo! Australia & NZ and gives you one-click access to your Mail, Address Book and Calendar. If you aren't signed in, the new home page will let you do so easily. Yahoo! Australia & NZ is now beta testing the new design and collecting feedback from consumers before finalizing the front page. The new design is based on the redesign of Yahoo.com in the U.S., which has received positive feedback from consumers since its launch earlier this year. To see the new design and give your feedback, click on the "Check out our new New Homepage" link from http://www.yahoo.com.au or simply go to http://au.beta.yahoo.com. Beginning next week, the new homepage design will replace the old one, and consumers can give their feedback directly by clicking on a link from the front page.
