Three new SMS services give mobile phone buffs more fun with their phones.
SYDNEY, 9 October 2002 - With mobile phone mania continuing to dominate many age groups, mobile phone fans will be sure to embrace Yahoo! Australia & NZ's fun, new SMS and mobile phone services - Text Scroleys, Logo Composer and M-Cards. The new services can be found at Yahoo! Australia & NZ Mobile (http://mobile.yahoo.com.au). "Yahoo! Australia & NZ continues to be an innovator in providing fun and relevant mobile phone services for consumers," said Rachel Watt, senior producer at Yahoo! Australia & NZ. "The new Text Scroleys, Logo Composer and M-Card features take SMS to the next level, allowing people to add personality to the messages they send to friends and family."
Text Scroleys Basic Text Scroleys are also available, giving users a series of pre-composed, text-only messages to send - ranging from general greetings, love notes, tongue-in-cheek romance messages and comical quips. To get Text Scroleys, consumers simply go to Yahoo! Australia & NZ Mobile, choose which Text Scroley they want and collect it by dialling a 1900 number and following the prompt. Text Scroleys are powered by iTouch and cost only $2.50 per Scroley - the cost of dialling the 1900 number.
Logo Composer Luckily, Yahoo! Australia & NZ Mobile has come to the rescue with its new Logo Composer feature. Logo Composer, powered by iTouch, lets consumers create their very own personalised logo, which is sure to set them apart from everyone else. To compose a logo, mobile phone fans can go to http://mobile.yahoo.com.au, click on the Logo Composer link, and use the design tools provided. Once the logo is completed, an ID number will be issued. Designers can then telephone a designated 1900 number ($2.20 per call), enter their ID, and the logo will then be SMSed to their phone.
M-Cards Mobile phone socialites can select from a number of fun and frivolous M-Card containing a combination of pictures and text from a series of categories including Birthday, Weddings, Love, New Baby, Party and more. Once they have selected the M-Card they wish to send from the website, mobile phone fans can add their own personalised message and preview their special card. The website then issues a personal ID and gives the 1900 number that users are required to telephone. Simply enter the user ID and the number of the person who is to receive the SM and Bob's your uncle. This service is powered by iTouch and will cost greeters $3.30 for their dose of mobile madness.
