Kath Hamilton joined Yahoo!7 in 2006 and is responsible for leading the strategy, business development and audience engagement for Yahoo!7's lifestyle, entertainment, travel, news, sport and finance properties. She is accountable for extending the Channel 7 and Pacific magazine audience experiences across multiple platforms and maximising the value of content for multiple platforms.
Kath Hamilton has worked in Australian media for 15 years. Her career has spanned print journalism, TV and film production, advertising agencies and finally digital media including the mirage of Interactive TV.
Trained as a documentary filmmaker, Kath was seduced away from film production by the internet's ability for interactive storytelling. For the next few years she worked in advertising agencies producing interactive content and online marketing campaigns for corporate, retail and media clients.
Kath has been working at the cutting edge of interactive technologies with Australian Telcos and media organizations to deliver them first mover advantage in music downloads, mobile video, concert webcasts, enhanced TV applications, wireless TV/ movie guides and even an interactive TV application.
Prior to Yahoo!7 Kath joined News Limited's online company News Interactive and became a key part of the executive team with creative accountability for all News Limited online properties. In the role of Network Director Kath managed product managers, multimedia video team, information architects, designers and front end developers. She lead the creation of News Network of eight metro news sites and the redesign of the flagship news.com.au.
